Environmental Education Inspires Wonder and Curiosity
Through The Adventures of The Sizzling Six, Eco Mystery series, I hope to inspire readers around 3rd-8th grade to experience wonder and curiosity about the natural world. In each mystery kids must solve an eco mystery in order to take action to help save a species. The eco mysteries challenge and empower them to help resolve environmental problems that threaten living things in their own communities—yes, students can and have helped make a difference.

Teachers can encourage students to write their own eco mysteries with my free Teacher Handout, How to Become an Eco Detective: An Interdisciplinary Unit for Writing Across the Curriculum. To launch the Eco Mystery writing project teachers can apply Project Based Leaning (see all my Environment blogs at: www.mediamint.net)

In addition to my eco mystery series, The Adventures of the Sizzling Six, here is a selected list of books with an environmental theme that young readers may also enjoy:

- Will Hobbs writes outdoor adventure stories that appeal to both boys and girls. Hobbs has readers discovering wild places, sharing adventures with people from varied backgrounds, and exploring how to make important decisions
