July 22: A trip to the Talladega National Forest
To write Return of Red-Cockaded Clan, I need to get the feel of the woodpecker’s natural habitat. With this in mind, I set off on a trip to their nesting site in the Talladega National Forest, accompanied by my husband Boris and Greg Harber from the Birmingham Audubon Society.
